About Nichols RV & Truck Center

In 1983 Jim Nichols found himself without a job. With his background in sales and knowledge of diesel engines, he decided to embark on his own business and began conducting JA Nichols, Inc. from his dining room table. Through all his previous contacts and his desire to succeed he began brokering diesel engines and parts. Finding it hard to live and work in the same environment, he rented a small warehouse in Tavares where he began the service side of the business. He hired one employee and began rebuilding, marketing, and repairing diesel engines. In 1988 a hard freeze killed the groves in Lake County. A good portion of the business was with grove owners. At this point he knew he had to change direction and incorporate more services to stay alive. In the 1990's the company changed it's name to Nichols Diesel Engine Services, Incorporated. Jim began to focus on all forms of diesel engine sales and service including trucks and RVs.

As the business grew, it was relocated to Eustis, Florida. Another mechanic was hired along with office help. In 2000 the opportunity arose to purchase the current location at 2900 Kurt Street in Eustis. With 5 acres of land and plenty of service area, this is where Nichols RV and Truck Center has grown to be the service leader they are today.
